Character
Name: Nanamo Ul Namo
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood
Canon Point: Patch 4.2
History: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Nanamo_Ul_Namo
Patch 3.2 Nanamo soon presided over the Grand Melee, in which she was impressed that the fight between Raubahn and the Warrior had gone so well.
Stormblood 4.1: Nanamo decided that Raubahn’s heart was in another place, and decided to help rebuild Ala Mhigo. It was here she, with the Warrior, set out to speak with Godbert Manderville in the Gold Saucer. Godbert told her to stop using Ul’dah’s funds and seek the advice of someone she loathed: Lolorito.
At the Waking Sands, she met with Lolorito with the Warrior, and together devised a plan to rebuild the Saltery in Ala Mhigo and profit from it, as Ala Mhigo would not take charity, and the nation of Ul’dah would not benefit from losing coin just to aid another country.
With the matter settled, Nanamo released Raubahn from her service, and his son, Pipin, became the Flame General in his place.
Personality: At first glance, Nanamo is unassuming. With her small stature but regal disposition, she is one of those people who seems to have the ability to talk her way through a situation, using logic and reason. As the ruler of Ul'dah, she is used to having the weight of her country on her shoulders, and bears this cross well even through an attempted assassination. She is kind and wise, although bends to the hand of politics when she is voted against by the governing body. Wishing for the safety and prosperity of her people, this wish extends to not only the citizens but to the refugees.
Nanamo is not wise in the way of the world, relying on the people around her to aid her in her journey, though this does not mean she is unaware of her own peril. She has a large, open heart where she cries for the safety of Ul'dah, and makes as many friends as well as numerous enemies. Her own wishes are often curtailed by the strong arm of politics, as she has no absolute power in Ul'dah, as a partial figurehead rather than a fully fledged leader. However, this also instills in her a great courage.
Nanamo's strengths lay within her cunning, as well as her strong allies who leap to defend her at a moments notice. However, her most powerful ability lays within her sympathy for the masses. Unlike some rulers, Nanamo is heavily guarded by the Sultansworn, a elite group of Paladins devoted to her defense and care. To this end, she sneaks out in secret, posing as a nobleman's daughter named Lilira Lira, and travels Ul'dah and its surroundings to better understand her people's plight. She has demonstrated cunning stealth in evading her protectors, and it can be surmised that she possesses some sort of martial ability to defend herself if it is needed. She hates being coddled and only shows her vulnerable side to those whom she cares about.
This however can be her downfall. When she deliberately sneaks out, she sends Papashan and her Sultansworn into frenzy. The Syndicate often takes more power in doing so, even under the leadership of Lord Lolorito who has claimed that destabilizing the monarchy would be the worst thing to happen to Ul'dah. Nanamo's bleeding heart for the people of her country is a weakness, as she often takes risks, sometimes very drastic ones, in order to protect what she believes is right. She wants all people to have wealth and prosperity, but dwells insistently on trying the most drastic solution in order to solve the easiest ones. Also, she is too trusting of her servants, as she was nearly poisoned to death during the events of the Great Feast, and was placed into a potion-induced slumber until the Warrior of Light and Raubahn rescued her. She is a risk taker, and usually not for the betterment of her own safety.
However, in all, Nanamo has created a city where she strives daily to create a betterment for all people involved. She loves her people, and would do anything for them. In truth, Nanamo is one of the most involved members of the ruling factions despite her flaws.
